Yeah, but how often do you see a vette in the junkyard? I never see any around here...

The only thing about the Vett brakes i learned, are i will have to upgrade to larger wheels,The only reason i ask about the ZR2 brakes is because i can purchase them for $100,includeing the emergancy brake cables from the same 2 door blazer,so im told that will work on a short bed truck,my bigest thing is once i purchase them i own them ,and if the length of the axle from the bearing isnt the same,or the back plate dont bolt up,i'll be back to square one,I sapose from other forums the 98 or newer F Body is the way to go,if your junkyard shopping,I'm also on a budget, the LS1 swap im working on,is costly, and the $400 rearend with no brakes at all, also needs 373 upgrade, since it came with 308's...Im just a poor boy trying to live a dream LOL!

The ZR2 and F body Z/28 rear discs will both fit your 8.5" rear end. Hell, they'll fit the 7.5 and 7.625 rears as well.

Default axle

you can use yor stock axles. the zr2 axles wount go in a 2wd. the 4x4s are longer. but im sure everybody on here knows that. plus the splines are way bigger.

ah just swap to a ford 8.8 lol you can fix the majority of the length issue with wheel offset.. then you have your disk brakes.. and moser can always make you new axels.. or a shop could drill them for the 4.75 lug pattern lol..

or you could shorten it and have it drilled or new axels..

but im sure thats more work than your interested in

Yea your right though,it would be more work than im interested in,being i scored on a hard to find 8.5 2wd rearend that will bolt right in,and still be stock width, and it has the third shock to manage some of that wheel hopping they have a habit of doing, and i have spent 60 hrs. stripping, smoothing, and polishing a set of 16"factory wheels i plan on useing for a few..Disk brakes was the question, not looking to junk a $1000.00 rearend i scored for $400.00..THANKS LS1 S-10 Forums
