Blocks will only lift it after a SOA conversion, which gives you about 5.5" lift itself. Unless you're SOA, blocks lower you.

Just checked my 2wd and its under the axle. All my full size trucks have been over, never looked. Now I know.

I was actualy leaning towards a body lift the more i think about it. but early in this post air shocks were mentioned, i was wondering if anyone has more info on those? do they ride nice, are they pratical, and do they last long? any other usefull info would be great too.

Air shocks ride exactly how you want them to. Particularly helpful if you often haul heavy things. Add pressure to the back end to help level the load.
If you plan on using them for lift, you will get a terribly stiff ride. Some guys use air shocks with higher pressure and then take some preload out of their springs for more flex...at a cost of ride quality.
