I bought an Accel "tune up kit" about 4 years ago along with an MSD coil. I have had no problems... yet.

But after I find that wires (which are loomed out of the way) with 10,000 on them have 4-5 places where they are arcing....I will never buy Accel again. Could just be a bad set

Accel wires just arn't very good with heat.. Chaos might have taken the time to properly divide and keep those wire away from hot spots.. Not say'n you havn't, but once they get heated and you start bending the insulation, thats when the cracks start forming in the Accels.. Taylors don't do it. The Taylors I had on my RX7 came from a 5 year old V8 with headers that I cut down and recrimped for the rotary.. They were still nice and supple, even where they were inches from a set of cheap steal headers on that 350..
As far as the cap and rotor, they are built with brass(last time I looked). So they arn't as bad as a Duralast.. Then again, think of what a cap/rotor does... The only wear point/stress point is at the contacts.. Again, their wires are what I steer clear of more than anything.. The same set of Taylors I used on my rotary replaced a set of $60 Accels on that 350 within a week.. I was using A/C Delco plugs untill I found a consistancy in ceramic quality; cracks.. In fact, we used them exclusively on anything that didn't call for a NGK from the factory, cause they were usally cheaper.. Put a set in my Jeep and holy hell misfire.. Guess what Daimler recalled and replaced the orignial Champions with(lawm mower plugs!); NGKs ![]() FYI, Don't get Taylor wires confused with the crap chinees brand Tailors they sell at autoparts stores! If they arn't $60+, wrong wires

Thanks for the insight. As I said, I'm gonna run and MSD GM Blaster coil, Delco plugs, and these wires: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TAY-84232/
Although I did keep this loomed out of the way....they are shit now!

Don't loom your wires! Touching wires can, and will, arc across each other.. Use wire dividers!

Please clarify what you mean by wire dividers. How do you install wires if you're not supposed to touch them? Not being a dick, just really looking for some insight and knowledge

The wires touching each other... Wire dividers keep them spaced apart. When you say loom, I think of the black stuff thats around regular system wires..
DO NOT USE METAL DIVIDERS! They conduct electricity Too bad your stock stuff got destroyed/misplaced/whatever, as its the best routing..

Number one common mistake I see for tune ups is zip tying all the wires together...

I guess I am unsure of what loom is. What black stuff are you talking about? The dividers I am using are plastic but those mount to metal brackets that are bolted to the block/headers in certain places. There are all sorts of different dividers in my kit. Some just lay all the wires next to each other and some lay them on top of each other and lock with a clip. Each one of this keeps them seperated by the plastic clips. All my stock stuff got thrown away....even my old parts that I asked them to keep! I was gonna return some for core and then try and sell some stuff on craigslist. Who knows, somebody would have paid $5 for some used parts with 75,000 on them. Thanks for the insight.
