I love MTX. friend had one 12' in PLYWOOD.. not a box.. a piece. and it hit hard as hell... so he later got a custom box and stuffed 2 of em in it. it was orgasmic.

Favorite setup has got to be the one my brother had in his standard cab 2000 Ls, pioneer deck, onboard computer he built which had a touchscreen to play cds, dvds, 500 gigs of music and solitaire when i was bored on long trips haha.. in the doors he had some JL components and a 10w0 under the seat sealed with a 4 channel powering them(channels 3&4 bridged for the sub). He had this 8 years ago so i can't remember exact models other than the sub(that was my first ever sub)

My dream setup is JL c5 components to replace the stock 6.5 door and "4x6" dash with an amp to power them. Plus a 12 in the trunk

working on a system now I guess I could say it is a dream system,
pioneer head unit, alpine type s 4x6 in the dash, type s 6.5 in the doors, these are just ran off the head unit right now and I have a rockford fosgate amp I may hook to them depending on the sound after I get the subs in, but right now they sound real nice, the subs I bought are jvc 12" 4 ohm dvc 350 rms 1200 peak, trying to figure box size right now and still save some foot room,
(single cab 98 s10) gonna be tight, still need a amp to power the subs, planning on a rockford fosgate 700 rms 2 channel, other than the subs that I bought new at a real good price (if I had more cash I would have got alpine) it is pretty much my dream system for the vehicle I have, now if the title had been dream vehicle with dream system than there is another story.

what's in the saturn right now.

old skool 1996 Clarion Pro Audio tape deck with 6 disc cd changer, 12" sub in an enclosed box, and 20 year old 200 watt Menace amp.

my shit is old as dirt, but it still sounds amazing. i can't get that little bastard amp to overheat and shutdown. it's reliable as hell.

Polk and JBL has always been my favorites, AMPLIFIED! All speakers sound like shit straight out of a head unit..

But I havn't bought speakers, for my ride, in years.. All they do is add weight.. My 24 year old Delcos in the dash are enough for me lol

I know my alpines wired to my pioneer head unit don't sound like shit,
but than I couldn't be satisfied with a 24 year old delco system either.

Agreed, my Alpine 4x6's in the dash sound amazing on my headunit. Of course, they would sound alot better on an Alpine 4channel amp...

Well i've got type s 4x6 and 6.5 running off my alpine head unit and they sound great. Then ive got a shitty Xplod 10 hooked up to an old Orion 400 wat amp. It sounds good but i want to get those new shallow mount 12's from jl and an alpine 1000 watt amp to push them.

Use an amp that is actually rated RMS to the speakers RMS range and you'll hear the difference. Or, you're tone deaf. Not a bad thing; not trying to insult you. Some people just can't hear the difference in frequency, tone, range, ect.

I just prefer to go fast/look good over having tunes in my truck.. Never said I was satisfied; just not interested in wasting tons of money in a sound system I use 20-40 minutes a day.... Where as I sit at my house and mostly listen to music..

Josh, you stepped over your own words...lol Of course the Alpines sound better than Delcos.. But read my first paragraph in this post.. They'll sound better!

Engineers rate speakers for a reason.. Just like putting a cast crank in a 1000 h.p. engine.. You wouldn't do that.. Just like you shouldn't run a 50W RMS speaker off a 13W RMS head unit.. And if any of you think head units peak anywhere near there rated MAX output, HA!

no disrespect twin rotor but the title of the post is "dream system", and with no interest in spending the money on a system (I can respect that) why post?
