Default Cheap electric fan mod

Hey whats up guys? i searched right now to see who has done an electric fan swap but nothing so here goes my story. I have a 96 S10 2.2L extended cab 2wd. I hated the way the fan clutch would sound in between gears and also when i would floor it. I went to the junk yard because i was looking for an electric fan out of a 90-95 Ford Taurus 3.8L because those electric fans pull about 4500CFM of air which is better than what anything else can get you and cheaper. I was planning on doing this mod to my 2005 dodge ram hemi since everyone in dodgetruckworld.com that has done it loved it, i figured i would use my S10 as a guinnea pig to see how it turned out so i grabbed a relay and some wire and modified the electric fan alittle to make it fit inside the stock fan shroud. Ran the wires, battery positive to relay, ground to relay, switch power source to relay, high speed fan wire to relay and fan ground to ground. I did it the cheap way because you could also go to autozone and ask them for an electric fan thermostat kit which brings everything including a radiator probe to stick in the radiator to power the fan at 185 degrees and it costs $24 bucks. I did this mod about a month ago and so far so good, my engine revs quicker, better gas mileage. so far 170 miles from full to 3/4 line and the temp gauge reads normal. The fan at the junk yard cost me 10 bucks, 14 gauge wire cost about $6.99, you could use thicker cable costs the same. relay was free but they are $10 bucks for 1. So just those few bucks spent can increase your horsepower and you cant never go wrong with that.

Dual electric fans with a V8 is awesome. The Ford Taurus fan can actually pull more Cfm than most dual setups. Plus a lot cheaper than buying new aftermarket ones.

reves quicker becaus ethere's less rotating mass... that's one big perk of electric fans over mechanical. also.... i hate mechanical fans due to the fact that tyhe mini overheats so easy when it sits for over 10 mins outside. (can't believe it's this damn hot in VA.... was almost 100 the other day... damn global warming.)
