uhhh uh oh... plugs shuld b soaked if fuel is getin into the cylinder and its not running...oh jeez um if plugs are dry and its gettin everything it needs to run, pull one of the valve covers off and have a buddy crank it over and see if teh rocker arms are moving, if they are then valves are opening and closing, if NOT then either timing chain broke or the key way for the gear has broken... this woudl make sence

im sure theres other things to check and im sure theyll b brought up when the other gusy on here chime in on this

but in reality conventional thinking tells me if its not starting and ur pretty much flooding it with fuel and starting fluid and ya got spark, plugs would DEF be fouled, i bought a boat with a volvo 4 banger in it, same issue as urs, but timing chain was snaped o.0

but make sure, sence u have a 2.5, to take teh plug wire off teh ign coil when u do this as to get teh valve cover off ull need to pull the EGR valve off (just 2 bolts) and ya really dont want it to decide to start by acident on ya, ya just want it to crank over so u can see if everything is working

Just because the plugs fire out of the engine, doesn't mean they're any good.
When did you change them last?

Tru, does the spark look strong or weak?

plugs were just changed not more than two weeks ago and they are ac platnium plugs . but the spark does look week like an yellow or orange not blue white . had modual checked its good , replaced pick-up coil , and yes all valves are moving. with an ohm meter checked coil and according to the book its good but who knows
