Question 96 2.2l question

Have a 96 s10 with problem i havent figured out yet.For awhile i noticed a slight skip/misfire,but very mild and not a problem driving truck...took out plugs and all nice and white...lately though it has gotten worse and especially if i let it sit for a few days it runs rough as heck like missing on 2 cylinders..but once it warms up or if i shut off and restart it gets a little better...no check engine light and have cleaned up grounds and greased with dielectric grease...gas is fine..same stuff used in other vehicle..no vacuum leaks...so looking for any input..this is a 5 speed 4cyl 2.2 litre

If memory serves me white is right on the money.. and the black and reddish brown as Todd calls it.. would be from rich or lean conditions..

Check fuel.pressure.. and I'd go ahead and make sure the injectors are spraying good.. and free of anything that would plug them up... I have a spare set of fuel injectors, fuel rail, throttle body for a 2.2 s10 there.from a 98/99. Have an exhaust manifold with good o2 sensor as well.. and other misc parts that don't amount to much for a 2.2 also have the under hood computer

I was gonna say...white means it's running very lean (not getting enough fuel), and if that's the case, it could very possibly be the fuel-pump or other fuel-system problem.
